American Writer & Illustrator

Margaret Jane Jones

Margaret Jane Jones was born in the family ranchhouse in Klickitat Countyin the State of Washington. In the Sun-Up Series, she writes of a way of life she herself lived as a child. In addition, she draws from her teaching experience—lively years of working with children which includes dabbling in children’s theater. Her practiced hand in the field of art brings her book to life with illustrations.

Ms. Jones is a graduate of Washington State University. She lived and worked in the Middle East—Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. As a Fulbright Exchange Teacher, she taught in Yorkshire, England.

Ms. Jones has never lost her wonder of the wide and sunlight skies of cattle-country in Klickitat County, Washington, where she grew up. In summer in New Hampshire, she and her husband climb mountains and walk hidden wilderness trails with the family. In winter, she lives with her husband in Florida where wild rabbits play in the yard.

Margaret Jane Jones is an active member of the Suncoast Writers Guild. She also writes poetry about nature and family.
